Charlotte Movie Premiere Benefits Goodwill
|
All proceeds from the sold-out Charlotte premiere of the award-winning film, The Last Passport, were donated to Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont. The premiere took place on Wednesday, October 21 at the Epicentre Theaters. Directors Kent Smith and David Temple presented a check for $1,500 to the agency immediately following the event. The Last Passport, made in Charlotte by Lucky You Films, is about a
70-year-old gentleman who spends the day in a passport office. He meets
a handful of people; each one sharing a story about their own personal
experiences, which relate to his own life. Through these brief
encounters he helps change each person's view on the world, which shows
we can all make a difference in everyone’s life if we are only
willing.
The film made
its big-screen debut at the Solstice Film Festival in Minneapolis, MN
where it brought home two awards for Best Directors (Smith, Temple) and Best Actor
(lead, Jimmy Hager). The full-length feature film was written, produced, shot, directed, edited, scored and finished in 30 days on a $5,000 budget.
