Students from Cotswold Elementary in Charlotte showed they can make a difference in their community and help the environment during a two-day Goodwill drive on September 29 and 30.
By the time the last donation was collected, a trailer was completely filled with thousands of items for local Goodwill stores. Throughout the drive, parents volunteered their time to help collect donations.
A Goodwill donation bag was sent home with each student prior to the drive. Families were urged to fill it with clothing and household items and help Cotswold meet its goal of filling up the Goodwill trailer. On September 25, students attended a pep rally where they learned how their donations will make a difference. The donations collected will be sold in Goodwill’s retail stores with proceeds funding the agency’s critical job training and employment services that help put people back to work in the community.
Clear Creek Elementary in East Charlotte will host a Goodwill drive on October 19 and 20. Cornelius Elementary will host a drive on October 26 and 27.
