Goodwill Program: GoodWork Staffing
“I was surprised at how quickly GoodWork Staffing was able to find me a job.”
Ashley grew up on a farm and helped raise and care for animals every day. While Ashley had to take care of the farm animals, she also took care of the many strays that wandered onto the farm.
“There were always stray animals coming onto my farm that were hurt or in poor health from being on their own. I just took care of them,” says Ashley.
From this care grew a great love for animals.
When Ashley moved to Charlotte in February 2008, she was looking for a job. Ashley attended a local job fair when she met a fellow job seeker, who mentioned Goodwill and its GoodWork Staffing agency.
Within two weeks of interviewing with GoodWork Staffing, Ashley was quickly reunited with animals when she was placed with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control as a kennel attendant.
“I have no complaints about Goodwill and GoodWork Staffing. I was surprised at how quickly GoodWork Staffing was able to find me a job,” says Ashley.
Ashley has been with Animal Control since March 2008 and “loves everything about her job.”
Ashley’s future aspirations are to join the Marine Corps and to return to college to finish her bachelor’s degree.
